You’ll need to decide if you want Big chickens for Big eggs In a Big back yard or downsize to Bantam Chickens for smaller spaces , smaller eggs and suited to smaller family members. Small Bantam chickens such as the Silkie hens, Pekins and Old English game Bantams, produce smaller but nutritious eggs and may be more suited to young families with small backyard space. Their smaller size and quiet nature make them less likely to boss around small children unlike the larger Breed chickens.
